What is the minimum standard of skiing skill needed to join a Canadian Ski Quest camp: Skiers need to be skiing at a strong intermediate level to join a Canadian Ski Quest camp. If you can ski at a constant speed with parallel skis on a groomed blue run we will have a group for you.

What range of skiing ability levels typically participate in Canadian Ski Quest?: Canadian Ski Quest serves skiers from intermediate to expert level.

Will we be skiing off piste?: Yes, one of Canadian Ski Quests primary goals is to expand our participants skiing potential.

How many skiers will be in each group? In most cases six, but in rare cases we will have up to eight max. Quite often there will be less than six.

How long is each training day?: Five to six hours including breaks, depending on the energy level of the group.

Does the group have lunch together?: Yes.

Is lunch included? No.

How often and for how long will we take breaks?: Your instructor will go with the flow of the day on this one. If the conditions are good and the energy is high they will take one short lunch break while in more challenging conditions where skiers are more fatigued we may take a coffee break and a lunch break.

Can I excuse myself early if I get tired?: Yes of course, safety first.

How are the groups determined?: Groups are determined according to your skiing goals and ability level. Canadian Ski Quest staff make an assessment of your skiing skills on the Sunday guided skiing session.

Is the Sunday guiding day an instructional day? No, the goal on this day is to have fun and to get to know the other skiers on the program.

Can I ski in a group with my friends? Yes, provided that you are all of a similar ability. If you are not of a similar ability, the faster skiers in the friend group will be expected to ski in a group suited to your friends ability.

How do I get to Rossland?: Guests can fly into Trail with Pacific Coastal or into Castlegar with Air Canada. Alternatively skiers can fly into Kelowna or Spokane Washington and then take a shuttle to Rossland.
